It’s quite a stark difference between the white face & the original black/red version.
The AT&T BlackJack 2 pink & blue won’t be getting any new features, but here’s a reminder of what you’ll be getting: a 2.4″ landscape QVGA display and full QWERTY keyboard on the front side, Windows Mobile 6, built-in GPS, 2-megapixel camera and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA which would allow for 3G global-roaming.

The T-Mobile Sidekick 2008 is headed to all retail outlets on July 30th. The peculiarly named handset was previously code-named the Gekko, Gecco & Aspen, and they finally decided to go with the year it was released. It’s one of the most basic Sidekicks available, although it does have a few unique features. It’s a good starter device for texting, MySpace, video sharing & other Internet activities.

The T-Mobile Sidekick 2008 will feature: a 2 megapixel cam, a 2.6-inch WQVGA display & interchangeable shells. It’s an improvement over the iD, but it still has it’s limits. If you’re into the texting, MySpace scene - the T-Mobile Sidekick 2008 will be a good option for you. Especially since it shouldn’t be too hard on your wallet.

The red Sprint BlackBerry Curve joins the titanium colored handset to become the second color option for the hot seller. Apparently, RIM is pretty keen on red, since you can get the color with the Curve or Pearl now. It actually is a very good looking phone, and I’m sure it’ll be a relief to business customers who don’t want the regular black model phones.

The red Sprint BlackBerry Curve features include: GPS, a 2 megapixel camera with video recording, Bluetooth, “enhanced” web browsing, and of course the Sprint music and TV services. Also, the mulitmedia services available on the phone are quite exceptional. The red Sprint BlackBerry Curve is available now for just $149.99 after 2 year agreement and rebates.

If you don’t already own one, the iPhone 3G is well worth the $200-300 it will set you back, but what about if you do already have one? Honestly, we’d have a hard time recommending it, unless you really needed 3G or GPS. Apple’s fundamental business mistake here is that the iPhone 2.0 software is available to current iPhone owners, meaning they get just about every benefit of the new device without having to shell out a few hundred dollars. Coupled with AT&T’s poor 3G coverage and the issues users have been running into, the 3G Apple iPhone just isn’t a compelling upgrade. Furthermore, manufacturers have had a year to catch up to Apple and some are doing a pretty good job.

The original iPhone is still an amazing phone, and can utilize the benefits of the new 2.0 software. When it comes down to it, the new 3G Apple iPhone simply plays catch-up with other devices that have been running 3G and GPS for years. This was an opportunity for Apple to once again raise the bar, but instead they dropped the ball.”

It’s not unattractive by any means, but it is very common. Yet even with the similarities, the phone has its own personality. At 3.9 inches by 1.9 inches by 0.68 inch, it’s both taller and somewhat narrower when measured across its front face. Its profile isn’t quite as trim, either, but it still manages to cast a svelte shadow. We didn’t mind the extra girth as the Verizon Motorola W755 has a very solid and sturdy feel in the hand–this is one phone we wouldn’t be afraid to drop. We also liked the soft-touch material on the front and back covers.
The good: The sturdy Verizon Motorola W755 has a vivid display, well-designed controls, and decent feature set. The call quality is satisfying, and the photo and streaming-video quality are both excellent.

The bad: The handset has a poor speakerphone, and its music player was unimpressive. Its camera offers few editing features, and its memory card slot is buried behind the battery.

The bottom line: The Verizon Motorola W755’s design looks way too familiar, but its solid feature set, ergonomic controls, and enjoyable call and video quality make it a reliable Verizon Wireless handset.”

The silver candy bar shape is a cell phone classic and the ergonomic controls and vibrant display are exceedingly easy to use. At 4.2 inches by 1.7 inches by 0.5 inch and only 1.4 ounces, the cell phone is compact and portable but it’s big enough to mimic the feel of a home cordless phone. We love the charging base that is included in the box (you don’t have to use it). It’s a convenient way to keep your T-Mobile Nokia 6301 in one place when you’re at home–no more hunting around for it when you get a call–and power it up at the same time.

The good: The T-Mobile Nokia 6301 has a simple, easy-to-use design with a brilliant display and well-designed navigation controls. Its functional feature set includes Wi-Fi for VoIP calling, and its call quality is top-notch.

The bad: The handset’s microSD card and headset jack are in inconvenient places. It has poor photo quality as well.

The bottom line: The T-Mobile Nokia 6301 is a great choice for a HotSpot @Home cell phone. Just don’t count on its camera.”

Actually, the blue Sprint LG Rumor has been available exclusively at Best Buy for a while now, but they’ll soon make it available at all retail outlets. The new color will be joining the green, black & white versions, which are already available. This new model will have blue on the exterior and white on the interior. It’s kind of a powder blue color, so it won’t work for everyone, although I think it’s pretty good looking. The scheduled release date is set for July 27th, although it’s not set in stone. Pricing will remain the same.

The blue Sprint LG Rumor features will remain unchanged, and will include: a 1.3 megapixel camera / camcorder with a 2x digital zoom, Bluetooth technology and an MP3 player. Music-lovers will also value the blue Sprint LG Rumor’s microSD memory card slot with 4GB card capability.

Although, you are getting 3G data with the CDMA version, which are missing with AT&T’s version.

The new AT&T Palm Centro Electric Blue won’t change feature-wise, but here’s a refresher of the specs anyway: Push-to-talk support, Palm’s OS and will have touch-display, nice QWERTY keyboard, a 1.3-megapixel camera and support EV-DO. The Sprint Motorola Vegas VE20 is a Razr / Krzr style cell phone, but apparently built with a bit less quality. The front of the unit looks to be made of dull plastic, while the back is brushed metal. So, most likely this will be more of a mid-range handset, instead of higher-end.

The Sprint Motorola Vegas VE20 just passed through the FCC’s website, so we know it will be available in the near future. A few specs we know of are: EV-DO, microSD slot, 2 megapixel camera (without flash) & what appears to be music control buttons under the screen. We’ll have more details on the Sprint Motorola Vegas VE20 soon.

And although Verizon will likely pick this one up, you could get an unlocked version that would work with AT&T, T-Mobile & other GSM carriers.
The Verizon Motorola Napoleon Q9 features include: Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard, EVDO Rev. A, quad-band EDGE, a 2-megapixel camera with flash, fingerprint scanner and Wi-Fi. So, by the looks of this thing, it will be great for world travelers - or just regular folks who want a very nice handset. We’ll have more details on the Verizon Motorola Napoleon Q9 soon.

The Verizon Motorola Blaze ZN4 will feature: EV-DO Rev. The .3 megapixel camera is nothing spectacular, but at least it allows you to snap a few images if you don’t have another camera. So, overall the Virgin Mobile UTStarcom Arc isn’t a bad deal if you are looking for a pretty basic handset.

The AT&T Samsung Omnia is just a rumor for now, but still a very likely possibility. The handset was recently announced, and judging by the specs, it would top every other current touch phone in the US market. That would be saying a lot, since the LG Dare, VU & Voyager along with the Samsung Glyde & Instinct are all superb devices.

The AT&T Samsung Omnia specs would include: Windows Mobile 6.1, 5 megapixel camera, HSDPA, at least 8GB of internal storage, and support for AT&T Mobile TV. I think with every touchscreen device Samsung & LG (and others) bring to the US market - the closer we get to a real iPhone competitor. Of course, the images are a bit blurry, but what can you expect from pre-release photos? On the image, you can see the TouchFLO 3D interface (first made available on the GSM version). However, Sprint will of course add their own applications/icons to the interface as well.

As of now, the Sprint HTC Touch Diamond has not passed through the FCC’s website, although that doesn’t mean the handset couldn’t release soon. Indeed, the only visible keys on the front are the Call, Clear/Voice command, and End/Power keys at the very bottom. The Verizon LG Dare is quite a bit smaller than both the iPhone and the Samsung Instinct, measuring only 4.1 inches long by 2.2 inches wide by 0.5 inch thick. It has a stainless steel border along its sides, and a black soft touch surface on the back that gives it a nice grip in the hand. It weighs about 3.76 ounces, which gives it a light yet solid feel.
The good: The Verizon LG Dare has an intuitive touch-screen interface, an advanced 3.2-megapixel camera, a full HTML browser, EV-DO Rev. A, and plenty of other powerful features. It also has excellent call quality.

The bad: The handset’s touch interface has a slight learning curve, and we weren’t too pleased with the handwriting interface. Also, the Web browsing experience was quite disappointing.

The bottom line: The Verizon LG Dare is an innovative and feature-rich handset with several surprises that sets it apart from other touch-screen phones.”

However, unlike the Slvr, the E8 doesn’t look like a flattened Razr V3. Instead, the T-Mobile Motorola Rokr E8 has its own style that is attractive without being ostentatious. Its dark blue color scheme is so dark that it almost looks black, and the “glasslike surface” makes the phone sparkle. This is one handset we wouldn’t mind showing off. At 4.52 inches tall by 2.09 inches wide by 0.42 inch thick, the T-Mobile Motorola Rokr E8 is rather tall but its slim profile makes up for the extra bulk. It weighs 3.5 ounces, so it’s not excessively heavy but a metal battery cover gives it a solid and study feel in the hand.
The good: The T-Mobile Motorola Rokr E8 has an attractive design with a brilliant display and an innovative keypad. Its music player is top-notch and it offers satisfying call quality.

The bad: The handset’s navigation controls take acclimation and the phone is rather sluggish. It also lacks 3G, full e-mail, and wireless music downloads.

The bottom line: The T-Mobile Motorola Rokr E8 is a top choice for a music phone, if you can master the phone’s novel, though slightly quirky, controls.”
